Dr. Emeka J. Okafor is the Founder and Managing Consultant of Geyser LNG Limited.

Emeka has over twenty-four (24) years of diversified petroleum engineering, natural gas engineering, liquefied natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and petroleum and gas production engineering experience in consulting, natural gas plant design and development, training and manpower development, research and development, oil and gas project planning, development, and management in Germany, Norway, United Kingdom, United States of America, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ghana and Nigeria. 

Emeka, who is a Fellow of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, United States of America (USA), started his oil and gas engineering career with the Process Engineering Department of the National Engineering and Technical Company Limited (NETCO) – a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), formerly Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Emeka later worked as a Research Engineer and Project Manager of LNG and Natural Gas Safety Research Programme at the prestigious RWTH Aachen Germany, and as Gas Operations Support/HSEQ Manager for Joachim Oil and Gas Services, Germany. Emeka is an Inventor of a patentable liquefied petroleum gas containment device for industrial and residential uses as well as an Innovator of a novel liquefied natural gas plant for commercial applications.

As a serial Entrepreneur, Dr. Okafor has founded and ran profitable companies both in Nigeria and Germany. Dr. Okafor is the Founder of EMOGAS Limited – a fast-rising oilfield service company based in Port Harcourt.

Emeka is a world class LNG and natural gas projects origination and development consultant with vast experience and skill in large infrastructure petroleum, gas, and field development projects; offshore and onshore oilfield development and operations; and various natural gas-monetization technologies. Emeka is the Ideator of the ongoing large-infrastructure, Geyser LNG project in Nigeria.

Also, Emeka is a senior University Academic in Petroleum and Gas Engineering with a demonstrated experience and history of working in the higher education industry, and with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London, a Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical and Process Engineering from the Technische Universitaet Darmstadt (TUD), Germany, a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Chemical Engineering from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Nigeria, and an ETT Fellowship from the Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, United States of America (USA). Emeka is part of the 2016 International Faculty Fellow Cohort of the MIT’ Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, United States of America (USA).
