Geyser LNG Limited is an LNG project company which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emogas Limited, and is mainly focused on promoting the development – engineering, procurement, construction and operation of a baseload LNG export facility that will be located in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. This facility will consist of a marine terminal, an upstream natural gas pipeline supply system, and highly innovative liquefaction technologies. Upon completion, this facility will be operated with the highest level of safety, efficiency, reliability and profitability.
The Federal Government of Nigeria recently launched the so-called Decade of Gas initiative and other associated gas development incentives that will ensure accelerated progress in the Nigerian gas sector, and this means for Geyser LNG, a great opportunity to accelerate efforts to boost the rapid natural gas-based industrialization of Nigeria. We have a strategy that will lead us into becoming the most strategic and result-oriented proponents and/or operators of one of the largest baseload LNG export projects in Nigeria and we cannot relent until we see Nigeria grabbing relatively larger market share in the global LNG business.
The addition of this proposed 10.4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Geyser LNG capacity to Nigeria, makes the project become, upon full development, Nigeria’s largest privately funded but fully Government-backed baseload LNG export project. The Geyser LNG project, structured into phase 1 and phase 2 (5.2 MTPA per phase/train), is still open to local and foreign investors as well as other levels of energy financiers. We expect the phase 1 and phase 2 Geyser LNG trains to supply a competitively priced cargo that will conform to the global net zero goals.
The screening and evaluation work deliverable with a detailed and comprehensive feasibility study is currently being prepared, together with the processes to secure funding towards the execution of all pre-FID stage activities. We are also open to continuing talks and engagement with credible engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors with requisite experience and track record to execute, on schedule, the pre-FEED and FEED phases of the project. We are pursuing relevant and major environmental approvals and permits for the various facilities and location.
This includes various MOUs and MOAs with stakeholders such as community leaders, offtakers, equity partners, financiers and upstream gas suppliers. We are working so hard to complete all pre-FIDs activities within a targeted time-frame so we can focus all efforts towards a successful signing of an FID.
